Borderlands 3: Players Report Losing Their Save Game Files, Fix Yet To Come
There seems to be some technical problem for Borderlands 3 in its PC edition, currently available exclusively on Epic Games Store. In fact, some users are reporting on their social media channels that their save data has mysteriously disappeared.
If several of these had benefited from the cloud saves – and it is easy to imagine that the problem is therefore linked to the latter – there are also others that indicate that they preferred to save locally, yet they could not resume the game.
Among these is also the producer of IGN USA, Destin Legarie, which in a tweet said the following: “Yeah Borderlands 3 deleted my save. Looks like I’ll have to start over. I’m guessing this is cloud save related. PSA do NOT turn on cloud saves!”

That’s not all: there is then another player who explained that she had lost her save files, which did not keep all the progress despite being done locally, and not in the cloud:

Another player said that he lost 7 hours of work from Borderlands 3, and that he is searching for a way use the save data to get back into the point of the game where he was currently playing:
@GearboxOfficial @EpicGames I just lost 7 hours of work from Borderlands 3 because something went wrong with the cloud save that Epic has is there a way to revert it back so i don't lose all that time and all the gear i got?

Now it remains to understand how Gearbox Software and Epic Games Store will move to solve this problem.
In recent months, the news of the arrival of the game right on the Epic Games store had sparked quite a bit of controversy, with Randy Pitchford, head of Gearbox Software, who had thrown more fuel on the fire, at the outbreak of the insults of the community.
“I wouldn’t hit you if you didn’t deserve it. It’s your fault I am hitting you.” WTF is wrong with you and this victim blaming bullshit. Kindly fuck off, troll.
