Close the Epic Games Launcher.
Navigate to your save game files (Documents → My Games → Borderlands 3 → Saved → Config).
Open “WindowsNoEditor” and open the file “GameUserSettings.ini” .
Replace the entry of “PreferredGraphicsAPI=DX12” to “PreferredGraphicsAPI=DX11”.

Error message “88500000” (PC):

If you want to start Borderlands 3, you might get the error message “88500000”, which says something went wrong and you should go to the page “support.codefusion.technology”.

Solution:

The user could solve the above problem by updating the Epic Games Launcher. After that, the game will start without any problems. You can easily get the latest client on the website of Epic Games.

Search for the game between the running processes and right-click on it and set the priority to High.
