Rumor: Battlefield 5 Could Include A Battle Royale Mode

With the success of titles such as PUBG and Fortnite: Battle Royale, many analysts said it was a matter of time before the most important franchises in the industry ventured into this genre. While there is nothing confirmed yet, new rumors seem to indicate that this is imminent, since Battlefield 5 could include a Battle Royale mode.

A source close to the project assured Venture Beat that DICE is working on a Battle Royale option for Battlefield 5, supposedly the name of the next installment of the franchise. It is important to note that the mode is barely in a testing phase so, although the information of this rumor is true, there is no guarantee that Battlefield 5 will include the mode.

According to the source, the Battle Royale caught the attention of DICE, so it is investigating how such a mode would work with the mechanics of its next game. An important detail is that it is likely not to debut next to the base game, but to arrive as a post-release update. Remember that EA has given much support to Battlefield 1 since its release, so this possibility is not entirely outlandish.

It is important to note that, until now, Electronic Arts has not commented on this rumor. So, we reiterate that it is not confirmed and it is best to wait for an official announcement before getting excited. As always, we will keep an eye on it so that you are informed.

We remind you that this week there were rumors that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will also have a Battle Royale mode. So, everything is shaping up so that 2018 is the year in which the Battle Royale enters the world of AAA productions.

And you, do you think it’s a good idea that Battlefield 5 has a Battle Royale mode? Do you think that the mechanics of the series lend themselves to such a mode? Tell us in the comments below.
