Report: Battle Royale Mode Coming to Call of Duty in Future

There is no doubt that the Battle Royale genre is a global phenomenon, so more and more companies are interested in developing content that satisfies this growing market. The interesting thing about this is that, according to an investment firm, Activision is one of them to see with good eyes the possibility of betting on the Battle Royale.

In a conversation with The Wall Street Journal, representatives of Oppenheimer Holdings assured that the value of Activision could increase since it presents several factors of growth. One is that it is “deeply aware” of the way in which other distributors have benefited from launching Battle Royale titles.

Recall that Activision is no novice in the genre since last year Call of Duty Online received a Battle Royale mode, however, it is a project made in collaboration between Activision and Tencent, video games giant in China. So, it seems that what Oppenheimer analysts are talking about is that Activision could launch a completely own Battle Royale whose approach is to satisfy the global market.

However, the investment firm does not specify what are the plans of Activision in this regard. Thus, we do not know if the company wants to develop a completely new game or if it believes that it is best to implement Battle Royale as a game mode. For the moment, we have only to wait for Activision to make an announcement about it.

In other news, last week Activision confirmed that the next Call of Duty is Black Ops 4 and that it will arrive in October to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. On the other hand, we think you’ll be interested to know that there are rumors that this new installment of the franchise will be available through Battle.net.

What do you think about this news? Do you think Activision should create a Battle Royale? Would you like it to be a mode of the next Call of Duty? Tell us in the comments below.
