Yooka-Laylee Postponed to Q1 2017
Playtonic Games announced that Yooka-Laylee game that has been considered the spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie will be delayed for the first quarter of 2017. Apparently the game needs more time to be polished.
Playtonic Games has announced that it will take its new adventure platform game in 3D, Yooka-Laylee, to the next E3 2016 event in Los Angeles which will begin officially next week, from 14 to 16 June (although there will be previous conferences on Sunday 12 and Monday 13). In addition, a new launch window has been confirmed for this game, which is confirmed to arrive in the first quarter of 2017, as contained in the studio and statements given Gavin Price, Creative Director and Managing Director of Playtonic.
The new launch window comes after the game was originally scheduled for October this year; however, this does not prevent the delivery that will be shown at E3 2016 and therefore the company has already launched the trailer for the video game event which will be held in Los Angeles next week.
“After long consideration and knowing through dialogue with our backers that they value quality and polish above all, we’ve made the difficult decision to lock the release of Yooka-Laylee to Q1 2017,” said creative director Gavin Price.
Yooka-Laylee follows the adventures of Yooka and Laylee, a duo that uses an array of different moves and abilities to explore 3D worlds, finding collectibles and meeting characters.
