Trick to unlock Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain’s Framerate on PC
Offering a constant flow at 60 frames per second, MGS V: The Phantom Pain does not allow a higher framerate. However, a trick exists on PC to override this locked frames per second. Explanations are given below.
Available for a few days on PC and various gaming consoles, Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain game was very well appreciated by the players. Turning admirably to 60 frames per second under the engine of Fox Engine, the title does not propose to go beyond this limit. However, a trick unlocks the framerate on PC.
A member of NeoGAF forums has published the method that can be followed below in order to switch to a frame rate above 60 FPS. For this, it is appropriate to make the following manipulations described below.
Note that this action also allows to correct vertical synchronization (V-Sync) adaptive, which turns off by default on a screen of 60 Hz. Follow the below trick:
- Navigate to the Configuration file folder.
- Open TPP_Graphics_Config in the text editor that you want.
- Change the line of “framerate_control” : “Auto” to “framerate_control” : “Variable” and save the same file.
Note that if you make any changes to the graphics options in-game, this preference will be reset.
