Tekken X Street Fighter has not been officially written off yet, but it will take some time before it comes out. The producer of the Tekken series Katsuhiro Harada told GameSpot in an interview that the game is currently ‘On Hold’. According to him, the releases of Street Fighter V and the upcoming Tekken 7 affect the release of Tekken X Street Fighter, but he did not say how long it will last.

Tekken X Street Fighter has not been officially ruled out, but will not be available soon. The producer of the Tekken series of voice – and occasional actor, Katsuhiro Harada, told GameSpot that the game had been put on hold.

During an interview with the site, Harada said the game “is on hold for the moment”. Although he did not specify how long it would be expected, the producer said that some of the factors that influenced this decision were the recent release of Street Fighter V and the upcoming release of Tekken 7.

Tekken X Street Fighter was announced in July 2010, while Capcom at that time was working on Street Fighter X Tekken. Street Fighter X Tekken came in 2012 for multiple platforms, whereupon Tekken X Street Fighter from Bandai Namco appeared to be an end of story. The latter seems now therefore not the case.

We already knew that Bandai Namco was having difficulty finding a release date for the game, because of the release of Street Fighter V but also the upcoming Tekken 7. It is therefore no surprise that Katsuhiro Hara, game director, told Gamespot that the development of Tekken X Street Fighter is suspended, for now.
