Star Wars: KOTOR Gameplay Video in Unreal Engine 4 Released
Here’s a first gameplay video for Apeiron, the name of the remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic in the Unreal Engine 4, performed by a team of fans. Here is what an idea of the rendering of game is shared with the graphics engine from Epic Games.
After some talks about it last week, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) is the subject of a remake directed by Poem Studios, a team of developers fans of the title of LucasArts. Simply called as Apeiron, the project aims to recreate the role play with the graphics engine of Unreal Engine 4 and that, with a view to distributing free for PC gaming when finalized.
A first gameplay video of the game was recently put online, for viewing some well environments known to fans of the game, with some updated graphics. The video shows the the city of Anchorhead, the starting area of Endar Spire, and the lower and upper cities of Taris.
Of course, there are still several visual bugs and relatively poor performance, but it is important to remember that development is still in progress. We are talking about a pre-Alpha that still leaves us much hope, we just hope that Disney does not get it sideways.
The goal is to remaster/redo the original game with more content, new worlds, missions, interface, inventory, objects and peers, etc. Currently there is no release date given, but we do see elements such as the use of the first person perspective and a real time combat.
