Sony: PlayStation 4 Will Continue To Dominate The Market In 2018

Shawn Layden, the President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment America, also spoke at the opening conference of the PlayStation Experience 2017, who took to the stage about the situation and said about the future of PlayStation 4 console.

According to the executive, for Sony, it is very important to choose the right moment to announce a new game, which is done only when it is certain of the potential of the product. For this reason, Shawn Layden believes that the officially scheduled titles for 2018 will actually arrive during the next year.

According to Layden, PlayStation 4 will retain its dominant position in the market over the next 12 months. He also believes that many new developers will start supporting PlayStation VR as soon as the installed base reaches critical mass.

Thanks to that, Layden has indicated that he believes that PlayStation 4 will “humbly” maintain its “dominance in the video game market” during the coming year.

Sony has not provided precise numbers, but according to the most recent estimates, the virtual reality devices placed up to now amount to about 2 million. PlayStation 4, on the other hand, recently broke through the wall of 70 million units sold worldwide.

The conference that took place yesterday gave us several surprises, such as the announcement of the MediEvil Remaster, and many new information on highly anticipated titles such as Death Stranding, God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, Detroit: Become Human and Days Gone.
