PS4 will not be Backwards Compatible with PS3 games, Sony Worldwide Boss Shuhei Yoshida reaffirms
Often on the front of the stage, the case of the backward compatibility of the PlayStation 4 with games for older generations of consoles of Sony made its return, but the manufacturer responds again by negative.
If Sony has partially accustomed us with backwards compatibility of its consoles, the PlayStation 4 no way permits to launch game discs of the three former old machines of the manufacturer. Whereas Microsoft began to integrate the possibility of launching DVD of Xbox 360 games on Xbox One, Sony is sticking to its words regarding the PS4.
However, a new question was asked to PlayStation France via Twitter and Shuhei Yoshida, president of Sony Worldwide Studios, responded in the most expeditious possible way saying “No” through a short video (check that out in the below tweet).
Recall, however, that the Japanese publisher has sent a survey to some of its users regarding future firmware 4.0 for PlayStation 4, bringing the assumption of the contribution of PlayStation and PlayStation 2 games on the PS4, certainly in dematerialized format.
