PlayStation VR works with Xbox One, Wii U and PC in Cinema Mode
Although PlayStation VR is not compatible with other devices such as PC, Xbox One or Wii U, the new virtual reality headset of Sony itself can be used with these platforms to view its contents in Cinema Mode.
PlayStation VR is designed exclusively for the PlayStation 4, but it seems that the headset can be (atleast partially) also used on other platforms.
PS VR brings an external processor that also serves as an HDMI splitter to allow the image of PlayStation 4 to display in both the center and the TV, so all you have to do is change the machine connector of Sony on the other console to the headset to display the image as if we were at a movie screen.
Some of Reddit users have in fact found that PlayStation VR is compatible with HDMI output systems such as Xbox One, PC or Wii U. Through Cinematic Mode of the headset it is in fact possible to project any video signal inside, provided that PlayStation VR remains connected via USB to PlayStation 4.
Ofcourse, the usefulness of this is relative, because the camera can not focus without the command of PlayStation 4, so that the experience does not stop being entirely comfortable, but at least it will serve as a curiosity. In short, a fairly appreciable secondary feature, isn’t it?
PlayStation VR is now already available worldwide.
