A decade ago, Microsoft’s decision to charge its Xbox 360 for playing online was heavily criticized at the beginning, and the whole 7th Gen was that tug of war between Xbox fans and PlayStation fans, as Sony did not charge to play online on PS3.

Released in 2010, the PlayStation Plus program was born as a premium online service on PS3, although online gaming was still free. But with the generational release of PlayStation 4, the online game became a collection and rates were set for those who want to renew the subscription every month, every three months or directly on an annual basis.

Fares that have suffered an increase that is already igniting forums and social networks, as Sony has decided to increase the price charged to its subscribers for the online service it provides via PlayStation Plus.

In this way and warning today by an email that has already become viral, Sony has set new prices in PS Plus, making the three payment methods more expensive. Specifically, from 31 August 2017 the new prices will be as follows:

Annual subscription – 59.99 euro (instead of 49.99 euros)
Quarterly subscription – 24.99 euro (instead of 19.99 euros)
Monthly subscription – 7.99 euro (instead of 6.99 euro)

Until August 31, it will be possible to renew or purchase the subscription at the current price list. Recall that in the free games of the Instant Game Collection in August 2017 there are Downwell, Just Cause 3 and Assassin’s Creed Freedom Cry.
