Naughty Dog would like to make a spin-off in Uncharted: The Lost Legacy series

We are less than a month away to enjoy Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, a title that will follow the universe of the franchise this time without the presence of the famous Nathan Drake where we will take the role of the thieves Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross who are looking for the Lost Ganesh Fang.

It is true that although the story of Nathan Drake came to an end, such an important franchise can not end abruptly and Naughty Dog is no stranger to the idea of continuing with more games in the game universe.

In an interview conducted by VentureBeat, Josh Scherr, writer of the series, was motivated by the upcoming release of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, which he believes has the potential, in terms of history, to start a new series of games inside of the Uncharted universe.

In that sense, the writer stated: One fun thing about the series, and about the genre in general, is that we’re drawing from the idea of this whole world out there of rogues and thieves and treasure hunters and all these things they do with and against each other. Potentially we could spin this off. But right now we’re just focusing on getting this out the door, and then we’re focusing on Last of Us Part II. There are no plans for anything beyond this.”

“What’s interesting about this is, because we have these brand new characters, in a way it’s like wiping the slate clean,” Scherr says. “We’re welcoming not only people who are fans of the series, who are familiar with the characters, but also people who are new to the series. Hopefully they’ll discover Uncharted this way as well. We’re starting from the ground floor with these two, defining who they are, learning a bit about their backgrounds and how they came to be who they are, and how their pasts have to be reconciled through the events of the story.”

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy will release on August 22 on PlayStation 4.
