Phil Spencer: Work on First-Party Games for Xbox One Have Already Started
Earlier this month, Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, said Microsoft would be working to launch more first-party games on Xbox One. For this, the company plans to acquire and open new studios, which will allow it to develop more quality titles for its console. If you thought that this strategy was intended for the long term, you should know that Spencer confirmed that the work has already begun.
From his Twitter account, the manager was questioned on the subject. Spencer said that Microsoft and Xbox are constantly working to offer quality in various areas. This is not only limited to the hardware, the Xbox LIVE service and the operating system of the console, but also to video games.
Although the brand has had some difficulties in offering variety in this last section, Spencer affirmed that this item will be its new priority. However, the manager asked for patience from Xbox One users. This is because the planning and development of new first-party quality titles require time to have good results.
Previously, the manager said there is a lot of content to enjoy on Xbox One. This is thanks to the backward compatibility program, which will continue to be supported in the future. Additionally, there is the Xbox Game Pass service, which seeks to be a platform similar to Netflix and that will help indie titles stand out from the big productions.
In related news, Gears of War 4 will arrive on Xbox Game Pass in December. On the other hand, 343 Industries and The Coalition are already working on new projects.
What kind of first-party titles would you like to see on the console? Do you think we will soon learn more about the new projects? Tell us in the comments below.
I now feel good about HW, XBL/srvc and OS. Work on 1P has started, games take time but I know all 4 areas have to be strong
