List of emulated PS2 games for PS4 announced by Sony

On the occasion of PlayStation Experience, Sony confirmed that it will indeed be possible to play the PS2 game titles on PS4, also stating that this would not necessarily be simple nor free for players.

Last week, Sony was demonstrating the Dark Cloud game originally released on PlayStation 2, launched for the PlayStation 4. A demonstration which has just been confirmed at the PlayStation Experience, Sony announcing that the emulation of PS2 games was well provided on PlayStation 4.

Sony speaks well of emulation, but not backward compatibility and for good reason: the games will be remastered to enjoy a Full HD 1080p and take advantage of the full functionality of the PS4 and its joystick. The Share Play feature will thus be added to every title as trophies and Remote Play. All this promises seems to be interesting, except that it involves completely different games, and incidentally, one will also need to buy back.

8 titles that are already available on the online store of Sony: Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City and San Andreas, Dark Cloud, Rogue Galaxy, The Mark of Kri, Twisted Metal: Black and War of the Monsters appear to prices ranging from 9.99 dollars to 14.99 dollars.

Sony has announced that other titles will be progressively added to the catalog, no price reduction is expected for the holders of old games. This already raises the rumbling portion of some players sharing the joy of finding former titles and disappointment of having to pay again.
