Former Head of Crytek joins studio of producer of GTA V

Leslie Benzies, former member of Rockstar best known for being one of the minds behind Grand Theft Auto V, is back in the video game industry and in a big way. The creative announced that the studio he founded in January will have a third team in Budapest, Hungary, which will be led by Kristoffer Waardahl, former head of Crytek Hungary.

Like the offices of Benzies in Edinburgh, Scotland and Los Angeles, California, the studio led by Waardahl will somehow collaborate with Everywhere, the new project of Benzies. According to GamesIndustry.biz, the studio has the talents of several veteran developers who “have experience in AAA games, mobile and virtual reality.”

“To develop and build a beautiful open world game is one of our core passions and it resonates deeply with the team. When we heard Leslie’s vision for the game we jumped at the opportunity to join Everywhere and are delighted to be part of the core team bringing the game alive,” said Waardahl.

During his time as head of Crytek Hungary, Kristoffer Waardahl helped develop projects like Crysis Warhead, Ryse: Son of Rome and The Collectables.

As you know, Benzies announced Everywhere earlier this year as an open world project of which we still do not know many details. What is a fact is that it is being developed in Lumberyard, the new Amazon game engine which draws juice out of several of its online services.
