DOOM (2016) PC TroubleShooting Guide: Crash Fix, Mouse Acceleration Solution, Stuttering Issues Workaround, Disable Auto Aim and more

DOOM (2016) is one of the famous games in the series and finally it is released today. This is Doom 4 in the series, simply called as Doom which is available in the market. The game has been tested on the latest NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card and it looks stunning both in gameplay wise and graphics as well. With every latest games released, there are few issues with the game. First up, it is always better that your computer meets up with the Doom’s System Requirements. So, just compare your gaming rig with the below minimum and recommended system requirements of DOOM (2016):

DOOM (2016) Crash Fix:

To fix DOOM (2016) crashing problem, Nvidia and AMD both have recently released new Game Ready Drivers for their graphics card to optimize DOOM (2016) performance and boost its graphics. So, download Nvidia GameReady Driver 365.19 for DOOM from here and AMD Doom-ready Radeon Crimson Edition 16.5.2 beta drivers from here.

Additionally, many players on the Steam forum have said to verify the integrity of game cache for Doom by right clicking on the game in the library in the Steam client and then clicking on Verify Game cache. This way, the game will download some files, if it is missing, and after 10-20 minutes try to launch the game again and see if the crashing problem is solved.

DOOM (2016) Mouse Acceleration Solution:

Some players are complaining about the Mouse Acceleration in this game which is quite irritating. To solve this issue, right click on Doom exe file and then go to Properties and here just enter this text “+set m_smooth 0” without quotes. Just click Apply and then Ok to exit the window. This will fix Mouse Acceleration problem in DOOM (2016). Another solution is to go to this directory – C:\Users\Username\Saved Games\id Software\DOOM\base and then open “DOOMConfig.cfg” file in Notepad. Just go to the bottom of the text and find the value: m_smooth “1” and change this “1” to “0” and save and close the file, thats it, no more Mouse Acceleration trouble in DOOM (2016).

DOOM (2016) Screen Tearing & Stuttering Problem Workaround:

There are many people who are facing Screen Tearing and Stuttering problem in DOOM (2016). To solve this issue, gamers simply need to enable “V-sync” and “Triple buffering” in the in-game options. Note that, if you have a low end graphics card, then even after enabling this options, these problems will still persist.

Disable Auto Aim in DOOM (2016)

It seems that the auto-aim feature in DOOM (2016) is not well optimized in this game where bullets just curves into the enemies head. Unfortunately, this feature is not very well received with the fans of the franchise and there is also no way to disable Auto Aim in DOOM (2016).

One player on Steam forum stated that, he went from 50-60 FPS to 120-200 FPS maximum by just lowering the resolution scale to 70% on graphics card. So, if anyone is having low fps issue in DOOM (2016), then they can try this solution to boost FPS in this game. Also, it is stated that, you need to have a monitor to support more than 60 FPS.

Skip Intro Video in DOOM (2016)

If anyone wants to skip the Intro Video in DOOM (2016), then all they need to do is right click on the game’s exe file and go to Properties. Here just add this text “+com_skipIntroVideo 1” without quotes to the launch options and click apply and ok to exit. No more intro video in DOOM (2016).
