The development studio Blizzard has released a job offer for its classic games, namely Diablo 2, Warcraft 3 and StarCraft. This could put us back to the chip in the ear for HD reissue, but the purpose is different.

Well known for its excellent franchises, Blizzard Entertainment studio has based its success on Warcraft, StarCraft and Diablo. While the studio continues to lose subscribers on World of Warcraft and rumors revolve about Warcraft 4, we learn that things are also moving on older titles.

Indeed, a job offer of “Senior Software Engineer” has been posted on the official website of Blizzard, concerning the classic games of the studio. The announcement puts particularly Diablo 2, Warcraft 3 and StarCraft highlighted, emphasizing the need to develop them.

If we could think of a reissue of the high definition of these PC editions of the game which would be in anticipation, Blizzard told PC Gamer website that the studio needs engineers to “help maintain our existing games.”

The studio added:

“We need engineers to help maintain our legacy games. We have a history of maintaining our games for many years. Our earlier games are still played and enjoyed today, so we want to continue to maintain them for those communities.”

This last statement, however, means to us that Blizzard has perhaps not completely ruled out offering a facelift to its older titles. Stay tuned for more information.
