Aaryn Flynn: Mass Effect Andromeda is running at 1800p with checkerboard rendering on PS4 Pro
Aaryn Flynn, General Manager of BioWare, talked a bit about the resolution Mass Effect: Andromeda will have, his new project, on consoles. According to the manager, the RPG will perform similarly to other titles using the Frostbite engine.
Aaryn Flynn, General Manager of BioWare, spoke at NeoGAF on the performance of Mass Effect: Andromeda on consoles. His words indicate that the RPG will run at 1080p/30fps on PlayStation 4 and 900p/30fps on Xbox One.
Flynn noted the above in a post of NeoGAF, in which a user assured that Andromeda will run at 1080p on PlayStation 4 Pro, while PS4 resolution will be 900p and 720p on Xbox One. The member of BioWare said that this is false, and as said by Mark Cerny, architect of the PS4, Mass Effect: Andromeda will run at 1800p with checkerboard technique on PS4 Pro.
On the other hand, Flynn mentioned that the last time he reviewed its performance, Mass Effect: Andromeda ran at 1080p on PlayStation 4 and 900p on Xbox One. Both versions of the game were running at a rate of 30 frames per second, although they have managed to overcome that mark in some cutscenes.
Finally, great news for all PC gamers: Flynn reiterated that Mass Effect: Andromeda will not have the frame rate locked on PC. So, if you have a powerful computer you can run Andromeda at a higher frame rate per second. The small detail is that we still have time to know the system requirements of the RPG.
Recall that Mass Effect: Andromeda will be available from March 21 and this week we saw a new gameplay of what awaits us in this title.
