Super Smash Bros. Ultimate “Heavyweights” Tournament Scheduled for This Week
Nintendo has once again announced the theme of its next tournament for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the successful exclusive combat title of Nintendo Switch.
The new event will be focused on Heavyweights characters, so we will have to select them to participate and win better. The tournament will begin next Friday, October 18 and will last three days.
You can see the announcement below:

The website Japanese Nintendo has already listed these characters that will be part of the heavyweight category: Donkey Kong, Samus, Dark Samus, Bowser, Ganondorf, Wario, Ike, King Dedede, Bowser Jr., Ridley, Simon, Richter, King K. Rool, Incineroar, and Piranha Plant.
In other news, the title will be the main title at Evo Japan 2020 next January. Announced at the Nintendo Live Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Challenge Cup finale, the biggest fighting championship in gaming will host Ultimate as its main game in the Japanese Championship, January 24-26.
While it’s great news for Smash fans to see the title at Evo Japan, the event takes place on the same weekend as Genesis 7, the special tournament to be held in Auckland, California. Genesis is the largest Smash event in the world, so it will be interesting to see which fans who will pay more attention that weekend.
