THQ Nordic Acquires Outcast IP from The Creators of the Original Game
Acquisitions continue at THQ Nordic: the company announced that it has acquired the intellectual property of Outcast from the three creators of the original game, released in 1999 and returned to our screens in 2017 with a remastered called Outcast Second Contact.
At the moment
The business is being managed by THQ Nordic AB, located in Sweden, but will be done through THQ Nordic GmbH in Austria, which will be in charge of continuing ownership.
At the end of the 90s, Outcast was one of the most successful European video games, especially on PC. Unfortunately, the remaster did not get the same warm reception of the original, despite receiving praises from the public and critics. In the future will we see a real sequel of the game? We’ll probably find out in the next few months for sure.
Outcast takes you to a new world, Adelpha, where you will meet Cutter Slade, ex-Navy SEAL, who will face the dangers of a parallel universe. In 2014, the game was entitled to remaster and in 2017 came a remake – called Outcast: Second Contact.
