The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Stuttering solution, Crash/Freeze fix and Graphics Optimization Guide
Depth of Field Performance –
- Put distant object on Out of Focus
- Good for low resolution gameplay
When this option is turned on, long distance object will be out of focus. It is ideal for those who are playing games on low resolution.
Detail Level –
- Increased Detail Scaling of objects
- Not much impact on performance
This feature will add more detailed scaling in the game. For example if you attack someone the blood on it will be more clearly visible. The same is applicable to other stuff also. It also does not put much impact on the game output. Just a tiny enhancement.
Foliage Visibility Range –
- Create detailed graphics and dynamic weather condition
- Heavy impact on FPS
Foliage Visibility Range works for the game elements like grass, forest, weather, etc. It will give more detailed environment depending on the settings. It has four option to choose – Low, Medium, High and Ultra. At ultra you can get very realistic graphic conditions but also this requires high GPU power. So your fps quality will fall.
Grass Density –
- Increase Grass density
- Not much impact on fps
The option, as the name itself says, just adds more grass to the scene. It is light weight and has four options to choose from. They are Low, Medium, High and Ultra.
Light Shafts –
- Increase image quality
- Does not put much impact on fps
Light Shafts will make the light trays or you can say beam clearer when they fall on any object. This does not put any great impact on the game output.
Number of Background Characters –
- Increase Game Characters
- Can slow down game on high resolution
As the name suggests, you can increase the background characters of the game. The more you increase the more graphic card will be used up if the quality is set to highest. You can choose from pack of 75, 100, 130 or 150.
Shadow Quality –
- Adjust Shadow Resolution
- Puts impact on game performance
Under Shadow settings you also get another option to modify the Shadow quality of the game. You can simply adjust 4 levels of shadow visibility. They are Low, Medium, High and Ultra.
Sharpen –
- Clear and crisp picture quality
- Not much impact on the performance
This feature will make image look sharper. You won’t get any blurry output. And it also does not put any impact on the graphic output.
Terrain Quality –
- Increase geometric detail for terrain surface
- Puts impact on game performance
As the name suggest, by turning this feature on you can get more detailed ground graphics. It puts a bit less impact on the game output, but still if you need high fps it is recommended to turn it off.
Texture Quality –
- Increase game texture quality for detailed graphics
- Does not put much impact on GPU
Texture quality is to get more detailed and realistic look in the game. Witcher 3 is build ton REDengine 3 game engine. This game engine can capture a very high texture output even on a bit low end graphic card with at least 2GB VRAM. It is ideal for those who want a bit better graphics on low resolution. The texture quality can be adjusted from Low, Medium, High and Ultra.
Water Quality –
- Increase Water graphics
- Less impact on GPU
Water quality is to make the waves in ocean to look more realistic. You can see ripple effects also. The water settings can be adjusted from low, medium, high and ultra.
