The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim recreated in Unreal Engine 4, check out the screenshots

A fan of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim began to recreate the environments of the game with the Unreal Engine 4. The rendering shown in pictures mainly shows an improvement of the overall lighting.

Very popular since its release in 2011, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is still waiting for a possible porting on our latest gaming console. If the graphics rendering of the game can easily be improved on PC, the graphics engine is not always more efficient.

To propose an alternative, an artist known under the pseudonym “DRIVEJUNKY95” said the site Polycount that he is reworking on the Skyrim environments with the Unreal Engine 4, the graphics engine from Epic Games.

The current captures is displayed in the following images presented below, showing the village of Riverwood. The designer explained that the textures are now those of the game of Bethesda Softworks, the current work involved is focusing on the effects of light. This is only the beginning of the project, but it leaves a good promise for the future.

At first glance, the replica of the original screenshot might not be indistinguishable. For an individual programmer, it is a quite an appreciable performance. Since the project is not completed yet, DRIVEJUNKY95 wants to improve the quality of the game world even more, including the lighting and textures should be revised.

For several months, the programmer is working to implement the game world in UE4 optics. He kept his progress always firmly in Polycount forum. Further information on the project can be found on this link.
