A few days ago Steam announced Desktop Game Theater, a tool with which we could enjoy any games for PC on virtual reality headsets like Oculus Rift (rather than only those that have been programmed for this technology). The company promised to give more details during the Game Developers Conference and in the last hours has indicated that Desktop Game Theater is now available in beta.

HTC Vive

As announced by the company on its website, the lucky ones who already have access to virtual reality devices like Oculus Rift or HTC Vive can install Desktop Game Theater on their computers and play any title in virtual reality headsets like those just mentioned.

Since the ultimate gaming platform claims that any compatible title with Steam Broadcast should run smoothly in the beta version of the tool that we speak, although it is likely to have to make a series of adjustments to the settings for each game before starting the game.

Undoubtedly, this is an interesting news for all those interested in acquiring a virtual reality headset. You can consult all available information about Desktop Game Theater through this link to the Steam website. We also take this opportunity to remind you that just a few days ago there was a Steam tool “SteamVR Performance Test” released to check if your PC is ready for virtual reality or not.
