Sonic Forces runs at 720p/30 fps in all modes on Nintendo Switch

We already have details of technical specifications of the version of Sonic Forces for Nintendo Switch that will go on sale next November. Designers of the title of platforms have detailed its resolution and frame rates per second.

In the interview with Takashi Iizuka on Dualshockers, the company made it clear that if not for work with their own graphics engine, the Hedgehog Engine 2 would have cost them much to develop the game for the Nintendo console. By having its own engine it was clear that they wanted it to be the end result and they also worked hard so that the game would feel the same on all platforms, although development on PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One started long before Nintendo Switch.

It is confirmed that Sonic Forces will run at 720p both in portable mode and when the console is connected to the dock with the TV. In both cases, the frame rates per second will be maintained at 30 frames, as explained by Takashi Iizuka and Shun Nakamura.

Although the game will run at 30 FPS, the controls have been optimized to match the usual speed of the saga and are equivalent to what we would find if the game ran at 60 FPS according to the creative team. We will have to wait for its launch to be able to experience it.

The frame rate that the title will play on the console of the Big N was one of the great unknowns and in this interview, Hiroki Tokunaga, programmer leader of the title, has cleared all the doubts.

Sonic Forces will go to 60FPS on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, but unfortunately, the players of Nintendo Switch will have to conform with some graphics that will run to 30 FPS, although the controls will do to 60FPS.

Sonic Forces already arrived on November 7 for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC.
