Skyrim Director: Nintendo was “less interested” in Bethesda Games before Switch

As confirmed a few months ago, Bethesda will bring one of the most important games in its catalog to Nintendo Switch. In fact, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will be the first game of the franchise to hit a Nintendo platform, and for that reason the director Todd Howard shared some impressions of the new system of the Japanese company.

In addition to specifying that previously Nintendo was not very interested in the Bethesda projects, Howard stated, “I think it’s really smart what they’ve done. I think it’s the kind of device that only Nintendo could make. It’s exciting to bring Skyrim to the Nintendo audience.”

Similarly, the director of the game explained that Nintendo has collaborated efficiently in the process of transporting this title to the hybrid console. According to Howard, it’s very different from how the relationships between the two companies had been in the past.

Like other developers, Howard is not entirely sure that Switch is going to be a massive success, but he nevertheless praised it as a “really smart platform.” He even said that he likes it very much.

For its part, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is expected to make its appearance on Nintendo Switch in the fall this year, although a specific release date has not been confirmed by Bethesda.
