Shenmue III Will Feature New Combat System, 7 Million Dollars Crowdfunding Surpassed

Ys Net and Deep Silver decided that Shenmue III will not debut this year, as they need additional time to deliver an experience that lives up to the players’ expectations. However, this is not an impediment to know more details of the anticipated title.

Through a publication on the Kickstarter page of the game, the companies revealed details about the updated combat system that Shenmue III will have. The developers will add the AI Battling feature, ideal for players with little experience.

This option will allow executing the appropriate techniques depending on the distance and position of the enemies. If you are a veteran player of the series you should not worry, because AI Battling is not a substitute for the conventional combat system, as it works as a compliment.

Ys Net and Deep Silver showed a capture of the game, where we see a little combat between Ryo Hazuki and a group of enemies. You can check the image at the top of this news.

“R&D for this system is based on Yu Suzuki’s concept for players who are not used to fighting games or for those who want a full immersion battle experience. This battle system is highly compatible with, and will be an extension to the current battle system,” wrote the developers.

This implementation was possible in part to a new brand that Shenmue III achieved. The title has already raised more than $7 million in its Kickstarter and Slacker Backer campaigns, demonstrating the great interest players have in it.

Shenmue III was scheduled to debut before the end of this year; however, now it will do so until 2019. The title is in development for PlayStation 4 and PC.
