Shantae is a series of platform games that, while not as popular worldwide, has a dedicated base of players who enjoy its vibrant colors, fun mechanics and excellent musical pieces. Now, the fans can be very happy because a new member will join the family, called Shantae 5.
Through a tweet, the developer and distributor WayForward formally announced the development of Shantae 5, the first major title of the small pirate franchise since the release of Shantae: Half-Genie Hero in 2016. In addition, it was confirmed that the project will release on all the current consoles: PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and even mobile, because it will also be available for the newly announced Apple Arcade service.
“Today we’re thrilled to announce Shantae 5! You’re invited to join Shantae in a brand-new adventure later this year on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC … AND the newly announced Apple Arcade,” the tweet reads.
Unfortunately, there is no more information about the game yet, but we will surely receive details during the next few months. For now, what is official is that Shantae 5 will be released sometime in 2019.
