SEGA Mega Drive Mini Will Release This September 19

The surprises have begun to arrive in SEGA Fes 2019 and the event opened with the revelation of the release date and price of the SEGA Mega Drive Mini, its proposal in terms of retro consoles, as well as the presentation of 10 of the 40 classic titles that can be preloaded.

A year after its revelation, the SEGA Mega Drive Mini, and its western variant, SEGA Genesis Mini, already has an official release date and it will be this September 19th when it will be available in the market. Being an event for Japan, the company shared some details regarding the launch of the console in that market, so these should not be taken as is for what will happen in the West.

In that sense, SEGA revealed that the control, in its version of 6 buttons, which will include the mini console will be the same size as the original. Also, the Japanese market will receive an edition with a control, which will have a price of approximately $70 USD, while there will be another with 2 controls that will cost $80 USD.

Subsequently, SEGA revealed 10 of the 40 games that will be part of the pre-loaded catalog of the Mega Drive Mini in Japan, the others will be announced soon:

  2. Puyo Puyo Tsu
  3. Shining Force
  4. Vampire Killer
  5. Wrestleball
  6. Gunstar Heroes
  7. Comix Zone
  8. Rent A Hero
  9. Space Harrier II
  10. Madou Monogatari I
