Secret of Mana Remake for PS4, PS Vita and PC Announced

Square Enix announced that it is working on a remake of the first title of the popular JRPG saga of Secret of Mana, although its Japanese name is Seiken Densetsu 2.

Originally released in 1993 on Super Nintendo and known in Japan as the title of Seiken Densetsu 2: Secret of Mana (in fact, it is the second chapter of the Mana series), Secret of Mana Remake will receive a restoration treatment in both audio-visual and Of gameplay, with a new 3D graphics engine.

In fact, this installment will be titled Seiken Densetsu 2: Secret of Mana in Japan, while in the west the title will simply be named as Secret of Mana. Its launch is already scheduled for February 15, 2018. The platforms on which the game will arrive will be PlayStation 4, PS Vita and Steam.

According to the press release, the game will receive updated mechanics for modern platforms as well as a newly remastered soundtrack. Of course, being a remake, the graphics have been completely renewed with new 3D models, as you can see in the trailer below.

Secret of Mana was originally released by Square Enix in 1993 for SNES. It was directed by Koichi Ishii and produced by Hiromichi Tanaka. One of its main characteristics was that it allowed cooperative mode with up to 3 players, something unusual for the genre.
