Sam Lake Confirms That He Wants “To Make Alan Wake 2”

Sam Lake has stated that he wants to make Alan Wake 2 in an interview with IGN Unfiltered, which will be published tomorrow.

Lake explained in no uncertain terms that he wants to make Alan Wake 2, before stating that it will take so many pieces of the puzzle to go to their place before the active development of the game can begin.

“I want to make it. It’s a curious thing. At this point, so much time has passed,” explained the creative director of Remedy. “I feel that the bar is higher in some ways. It needs to be done right if it’s ever done. Everything needs to click into place, which is really hard to make it happen.”

“So many things, for these big games to be greenlit, need to be aligned. But I’m hoping that someday….,” he added, leaving the subject to the imagination of the fans.

Certainly, now that Remedy has the intellectual property of Alan Wake, the process may be more fluid, and who knows if it is already in the next pipelines, once Control has been published at the end of August.

The Finnish company, currently working on Control, has announced that Alan Wake’s intellectual property is back in its hands. Thanks to the re-appropriation of some gaming IPs previously released, Remedy will put 2.5 million euros of royalties into its coffers this year.

In recent news, Thomas Puha of Remedy Entertainment stated that they were working on the next game years ago and it just didn’t pan out. We just hope that Lake would seriously think about bringing the next game to its fan base as soon as possible.
