Resident Evil 7 Random Freezing solution, Crash, Stuttering / Frame Rate dropping fix and more

Resident Evil 7 Random Freezing solution:

It was noted that you need to go back to the main menu everytime to change the settings, you should never change settings while playing the game. Also, you will have to ignore Alt Tabbing completely which will freeze the game. If still you are facing freezing problem in Resident Evil 7 then go to the main menu and use the below settings:

1. Frame Rate: Variable
2. Windowless Border Mode
3. VSync: OFF
4. Textures: Medium (do not attempt to go higher as you will get massive stuttering, just start with low and go with high settings at a time)

If the game is crashing with the message Api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing then you need to reinstall the C++ library available at this link, as it is required for Windows 7 and 8 OS.

If the game is giving error message MFplat.dll and/or MFreadweite.dll or missing then you have to download a free media feature pack available at this link.
