Red Dead Redemption 2: Trusted Reviews Will Donate £1 Million Due To Pre-Launch Leaks
Earlier this year, Trusted Reviews, an English portal of TI Media dealing with video games and technology, disclosed confidential information about the game features and online modes of Red Dead Redemption 2.
At Take-Two and Rockstar Games, predictably, that move was not at all genius. The US companies not only requested the cancellation of the offending article (dated February 6, 2018), but also reached an agreement with TI Media, which publicly apologized and is now preparing to donate 1 million pounds to charitable associations chosen by Rockstar Games.
On the page where it was once possible to find the article with confidential information, it is now possible to read the following words: “On February 6, 2018, we published an article that was sourced from a confidential corporate document. We should have known this information was confidential and should not have published it. We unreservedly apologize to Take-Two Games and we have undertaken not to repeat such actions again. We have also agreed to donate over £1 million to charities chosen by Take-Two Games.”
None of the parties involved provided information on how this document was obtained. In any case, it is very nice to know that, rather than pocket the money for compensation, Rockstar has decided to donate everything to charity. Meanwhile, the Red Dead Redemption 2 phenomenon has landed on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One recording the best entertainment launch weekend.
