Pachter: Red Dead Redemption 2 Could Sell 17 Million Copies This Year
On October 26, many players around the world started their adventure in Red Dead Redemption 2, the most expected game of Rockstar after 5 years of their last game. Like all important titles, much was said about the response of the market before the launch of this game and different analysts shared their forecasts and sales expectations. Recently, Michael Pachter did the same and considered that the title of Rockstar could sell up to 17 million copies in the remainder of 2018.
During an interview with GamingBolt, Michael Pachter, an analyst at Wedbush Securities, talked about the sales he expects for Red Dead Redemption 2. In that sense, Pachter estimated that the new installment of Rockstar Games could sell 15 million units before the end of 2018 but, if the environment is very favorable, the game could reach 17 million copies sold in the weeks remaining for the year.
Also, the analyst said that we must pay attention to the way in which Take-Two reveals the figures related to the game because, he said, the company usually refers copies distributed in stores and not sales, so the figure could be 20 million in that area.
Finally, Pachter considered that the biggest volume of sale of Red Dead Redemption 2 will be on PS4 and could exceed in a proportion of 2 to 1 to that sold on Xbox One.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is now available on PS4 and Xbox One.
