Rage 2 Could Release on Nintendo Switch

In an interview with Variety, Tim Willits of id Software stated that the company is examining the possibility of bringing Rage 2 to the Nintendo Switch console. The open world shooter of Bethesda is currently provided exclusively on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Here is what Willits declared:

“We’re looking at the tech on that right now, and we’re still evaluating that. We stream everything (in Rage 2), and we’re just looking… because everything is open, everything’s available, so there’s no level loads. We are looking at that now, but we don’t know.”

Rage 2, as an open world, could be too complex to be managed by the hardware power of the Nintendo Switch, without significant cuts. Most likely, the title will never see the light on this console. However, the fans are expecting the title to release on the hybrid console. After all, Bethesda confirmed that Doom Eternal, the sequel to Doom’s reboot, will also be released on Nintendo Switch, thanks to the porting work of Panic Button.

Recall that Rage 2 will be released in the spring of 2019 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but apparently, there may be room for a Nintendo Switch version.
