Quake Champions Will Add Bots

Bethesda announced a news that will please all Quake Champions fans. Soon, the FPS developed by id Software will receive an update that will allow you to participate in games against bots. In this way, you can polish your skills in the shooter and experiment with different champions in games with a more controlled environment.

In a development video that was released this week, John Dean, the technical director of Quake Champions, revealed that the bots will arrive “soon” to the id Software competitive shooter. According to the official announcement, the bots will be able to perform the same actions as the players – shoot, strafe and more -, in addition to having access to the entire arsenal of the shooter. As you can imagine, the bots will have different levels of difficulty so that you can put them on a level that you can practice.

Note that the bots will arrive in 2 different phases. The first one is expected to be available soon and in it, the bots will not be able to use champion skills, but they will know how to use any hero and all weapons. Keep in mind that during this period the bots will only be available in Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Instagib. The second phase – which is scheduled to arrive later – will allow the mods to participate in more game modes and be able to use hero skills.

The bad news is that, so far, it has not been confirmed if the bots can be used without being connected to the Internet. When questioned about it, Dean only pointed out that “there are good things on the way”, but he cannot talk about them yet. We will keep an eye on it and inform you when there is more information.

Quake Champions is available for PC.
