We have long known that Sony is preparing several improvements for PlayStation 4. The company confirmed that the official release of 7.00 firmware for PS4 is just around the corner, so it detailed every novelty it will integrate with the update.
For starters, the update will be available worldwide this week, specifically on October 8. One of the confirmed improvements is related to the Remote Play function, which recently arrived on iPhone and iPad.
Users of Android devices can also take advantage of this feature, which allows you to enjoy PS4 titles from a mobile or tablet. This will require downloading the Remote Play application on Google Play and having Android 5.0 or higher.
Sony updated this app for iOS users, who will now be able to display controls at all times, as well as lock screen orientation for a better gaming experience. In addition, it will be possible to use a DualShock 4 via Bluetooth on Android, iPhone, iPad and Mac.
For the remote to be compatible it will be necessary to update or have Android 10, iOS 13, iPadOS 13 or macOS Catalina (which opens in October).
Another firmware enhancement brings changes to the Party function. Now the groups of players will admit a maximum of 16 members, instead of only 8. There will also be optimizations for network connectivity and audio quality.
The Party App will now offer a chat transcript feature on mobile devices. However, this option will be enabled for now in the United States and will be compatible only with English.
