Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia announced a price drop for PS4 Pro in Japan: from October 12, the console will cost 39,980 yen (about €303 at current exchange rates) instead of 44,980 yen, the current price list of the console.
Among other news, we point out that the Glacier White model will become standard along with the Jet Black color in Japan, moreover, the Limited Edition dedicated to Kingdom Hearts III will cost 48,780 yen instead of 53,780 yen as announced initially.
Takashi Mochizuki of the Wall Street Journal has contacted the company to learn more about the price drop in the West, however, Sony commented explaining that “at the moment we have nothing to announce about it.”
Also on the Japanese market, Sony has announced that all those who purchase PlayStation 4 Pro and Call of Duty Black Ops 4 between October 12 and 21 will save 5,000 yen, paying a total of 42,280 yen.
There is news also for the PlayStation VR PlayStation VR Worlds bundle (available from October 12th to 34,980 yen) and for the PS4 Pro Red Dead Redemption 2 Pack, coming on October 26th at the price of 42,980 yen.
Just called SIE about PlayStation 4 Pro price cut and asked what’s happening outside Japan, including U.S. and Europe. It says “nothing we can comment now.” Keep fingers crossed! https://t.co/tekrgLxJeZ
