E3 2019: Project Scarlett Releases Fall 2020; Features 120FPS, 8K Graphics & More
To close its E3 2019 conference with a flourish, Microsoft decided to talk about Project Scarlett, its next-generation console. There, the Redmond giant gave us its first details, as the kind of experiences the console can offer.
It is a platform that will be focused on offering gaming experiences, which is designed by the same team that has delivered products such as Xbox One X, Xbox LIVE Gold. Its goal was to create more than a simple console, but a platform that is the future of the gaming industry.
An important detail of this console is that it will take advantage of its power and Solid State Hard Disk technology to reduce loading times. They also assure that it will represent the biggest jump of a generation of consoles. In more technical words, Microsoft will use the technology of AMD Navi to deliver a console 4 times more powerful than the Xbox One X. The result is a console that will have ray tracing and can deliver rates of up to 120 frames per second.
An important point is that Microsoft also designed this console so that developers have the opportunity to make the games they have always wanted to develop. In fact, several of the studios that are part of Xbox Game Studios are already working on content for this platform.
Finally, Microsoft announced that Project Scarlett will be available sometime during the Christmas season of 2020. To excite fans, the company also confessed that Halo Infinite will be one of its launch titles.
