PlayStation Now will soon become a more attractive service by allowing you to download the games to your console instead of enjoying them by streaming. This was confirmed by Sony in a publication on the PlayStation Blog.
According to the official announcement, as of today, the PlayStation Now subscribers will have the opportunity to download “almost all” the games for PlayStation 4 available in the service. Among the titles that are compatible with this option are important exclusives such as Bloodborne, God of War III Remastered and Until Dawn.
That’s not all, since the feature will also allow users to download the PlayStation 2 games that are available on PlayStation Now. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about games for PlayStation 3, which can only be enjoyed through streaming.
It is important to note that those who download one of these games should connect their PlayStation 4 to the Internet “every few days” to verify that their subscription to PlayStation Now remains active. Another detail that you should know is that to move the saved data of a game in the cloud to a title installed on the hard drive it is necessary to have a PlayStation Plus membership.
As you can see, this measure is a clear response to Xbox Game Pass. In case you do not know, the subscription service of Microsoft caught the attention of a large part of the market because it allows you to download the games to your console. This means that it was a viable option even for those who do not have a great Internet connection.
PlayStation Now is a subscription service that in exchange for a monthly fee ($9.99 USD in promotion for new subscribers), quarterly ($44.99 USD) or annual ($9.99 USD) gives you access to a library of games for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 2.
