Rumor: PlayStation 5 Will Be Backwards Compatible With PS4 Games and Will Cost $399
Recently, Digital Foundry has tried to speculate the features of PlayStation 5 and the launch window of the new console, however, other details on the future platform of Sony now comes from the insider and French YouTuber Julien Chièze.
Chièze, the former author of Gameblog.fr and currently a contributor to GameKyo, has received some rumors from an anonymous insider, who claims that PlayStation 5 will be backwards compatible with the PlayStation 4 games and will be marketed at a launch price of $399, same amount already adopted by Sony for PS4 and PS4 Pro.
The insider would then be unbalanced by revealing that the launch would be expected between the end of 2019 or at the latest during 2020, also it seems that the initial line-up may include titles such as Death Stranding and The Last of Us 2, which will still come out on PlayStation 4.
As reported by Semiaccurate, PS5 will probably be a platform based on Zen CPU and Navi GPU. In particular, we talk about a CPU with a seven-nanometer and eight-core production process, with performances similar to those of Ryzen 7 cards. The video card instead could reach 11 TeraFLOPS power, finally, we talk about the use of 16 or 24 GB GDDR6 RAM and SSD for storage space.
At the moment, nothing that has been confirmed by Sony and the presentation of PlayStation 5 does not seem to be imminent, we will probably know more in 2019.
