Phil Spencer: We are happy with the progress of Project Scorpio

Microsoft is very excited this year, and not to be outdone, because by the end of 2017 the company will launch Project Scorpio, its new system considered as “the most powerful console in the world.” Now, Xbox boss Phil Spencer said he is very happy about the scope they are getting.

The information came on Twitter, when a player asked if the console will be shown soon, Spencer said that will not be possible, but made it clear that they are satisfied with the results they are generating.

“Really wish I could, design team is doing their “thing” again,” Spencer said. “Really happy with what they’ve been able to do.”

Previously, Spencer said he is not planning to show Project Scorpio before E3 2017, and it is only logical, because the system will have more impact if it is revealed at the Los Angeles event, accompanied with games that will arrive this year on Xbox One.

Recall that Project Scorpio will be a console with 6 teraflops that will provide 4.5 more power than Xbox One, providing 4K quality. Even if you have too much power, so far Microsoft has promised that there will be no exclusive titles on Project Scorpio, except for VR game. Another important point to keep in mind is that the console will play all the games available so far for Xbox One, including the backward compatible list. And if that was not enough, the accessories will also work on the new console.

“We’re saying, if you bought games and accessories for your Xbox One, or you buy an Xbox One S, those games and those accessories are going to work on Project Scorpio. When you think about backwards compatibility and our games lineup, we want gamers to know that when they’re ready to upgrade to Scorpio, that content will go with them. That’s our promise and commitment around compatibility.”
