Outlast 2 release date announced for PC, Xbox One and PS4
To start the week on the right path, Red Barrels has shared some news that will cheer fans of horror games: Outlast 2 already has a release date. According to the developer, the sequel to Outlast will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC starting from April 25.
The new title of Outlast was announced in 2014 and was expected to arrive in late 2016; however, Red Barrels decided to delay it to 2017 to have enough time to fulfill its vision on this title.
Although Outlast 2 takes place in the same universe as the original, it is set in a different place, in addition to presenting different protagonists. In it you take control of Blake Langermann, a cameraman who along with his wife, Lynn, do investigative journalism on topics that no one else will dare to touch. So in this adventure you investigate the possible murder of a pregnant woman which ends up leading you to a dark and dark area of the Arizona desert.
According to Philippe Morin, creator of this title, the members of Red Barrels sought to create a much more disturbing experience than the original: “This time we wanted to reach the psychological layers. We always said that the first Outlast took your physical integrity and the second will take your mental integrity.”
In the statement, Red Barrels revealed that Outlast 2 would cost $29.99 USD on all platforms. It is important to point out that the same will be its price in digital format, since in physical format it will be a little more expensive to be part of a collection.
