NPD: PS4 Wins Hardware Sales in November 2017, Xbox One Drove The Highest Dollar Sales
Thanks to the report of NPD Group, we now know that PlayStation 4 was the best-selling console in November in the United States.
Today the analyst firm NPD Group presented its monthly report on console sales and games in the US during November 2017 and revealed that PS4 was the best-selling console in the month. Initially, there is great news for the consoles market, as hardware sales in the US during November 2017 registered $1.1 billion, an amount that represents an increase of 52% compared to the same month of the previous year, where it registered $754 million.
The report, which includes console sales from October 29 to November 25, highlighting the increase in consumer spending, that were attracted by the offer from Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft. In that sense, NPD Group recognized that an important part of the increase in general sales of consoles was thanks to Nintendo Switch.
Mat Piscatella, the analyst of NPD Group, reported that along with the appointment of PS4 as the best selling console in the US in November, Xbox One generated more sales in dollars during the same month, concluding that both platforms performed well in the month.
In the question of PS4 sales history, Piscatella reported that November 2017 is the month with the highest sales of the console in the US since its launch, an achievement that pays to its current status as the best-selling console of the year. In this way, the Sony console continues to reap triumphs because we must remember that a few days ago it was confirmed that PS4 already sold 70.6 million units.
