At the end of last year, Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo surprised the world with the launch of Nioh, an exciting action RPG with solid mechanics. Although many believed that this proposal was going to be niche, the reality is that they were wrong, since they already sold more than 2 million copies.
Team Ninja, the studio responsible for its development, shared this news on Twitter. There it pointed out that Nioh for PlayStation 4 and PC has sold more than 2 million copies worldwide. It also took the opportunity to thank all the fans who have given it a chance.
“Thank you everyone for continuing to Defy Death. Nioh has now sold over 2 million copies worldwide! Were you able to find all the Kodama during your journey?,” mentioned the company on its official Twitter account.
While it is far from achieving the success of other AAA titles, in fact, 2 million copies is a good number for a game like Nioh. This is so, since it is a new IP that is part of a genre that is considered a niche. So, let’s hope that this performance in the market motivates Koei Tecmo to deliver another installment to the fans.
