Tatsumi Kimishima ensures that 3DS will maintain its level despite the arrival of Nintendo Switch, as the company will not bet just for the new machine, but will strive to keep around both public, each “focused on different age groups”.

In the words of the president of Nintendo, Tatsumi Kimishima, this is not necessarily a problem: “Thanks to our software, the 3DS hardware is still growing. So that business still has momentum. And certainly rather than being cannibalized by the Switch, we think the 3DS can continue in its own form. ”

In fact, the numbers support the words of Kimishima, because in the last financial quarter, Nintendo 3DS sold more than 2.7 million units, and also the company have stated that Pokémon Sun/Moon are the best games sold in presale in the history of Nintendo.

Regarding the possibility that Nintendo Switch has support for virtual reality games, Kimishima said that there is nothing that can be secured in the future. Although it was not closed to the opportunities that the new console can offer virtual reality, Kimishima explained that there are still barriers between the type of software they make and type of software for VR devices, an example is the duration.
