Nintendo Switch Has Sold 10 million Units Worldwide in 9 Months

Nintendo announced that to date over 10 million Switch consoles have been sold worldwide, according to the company’s internal sales data. Nintendo Switch is the first console that not only connects to the home TV, but also turns into a portable gaming system, and allows players to use their favorite games wherever, when and with whomever you want.

Since each Nintendo Switch is equipped with two Joy-Con controllers, the players can easily share games compatible in multiplayer mode with family and friends.

There are already two of the most acclaimed video games of all time in the portfolio of Nintendo Switch: The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey, the first of which won Best Game of the Year award at The Game Awards and received additional awards including Best Action and Adventure Game and Best Game Direction, while Super Mario Odyssey won the Best Family Game award.

And with unique multiplayer titles like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Splatoon 2 and ARMS, which can be played both online and in the same room with friends and family, as well as an ever-growing list of excellent third-party games including Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, FIFA 18, Rocket League, LA Noire, The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim, Golf Story and Stardew Valley, Nintendo Switch is really the console for any player.

“As you can see in people’s living rooms, on a plane or riding the subway, fans all over the world can enjoy playing Nintendo Switch wherever they go. The response from fans has been great, and we’re doing our very best to satisfy demand during the holiday shopping season,” said Nintendo of America President and COO Reggie Fils-Aime.

With an extensive catalog of games released this year, Nintendo Switch owners will be eager to learn about the upcoming line-up next year, with the launch of Nintendo-released titles such as Kirby Star Allies, Bayonetta 2, Dragon Quest Builders and a new game of the Yoshi franchise, in addition to the great third-party games such as Wolfenstein II The New Colossus by Bethesda, Mega Man 11 by Capcom, Project Octopath Traveler (tentative title) by Square Enix, Shovel Knigh: King of Cards by Yacht Club Games and Morphies Law of Cosmoscope.

Nintendo Switch reaches the 10 million units sold since its launch on March 3, 2017, with award-winning titles including the already available The Legend of Zelda and the new Super Mario Odyssey and further new gaming experiences coming in 2018.
