Nintendo Switch Online Confirmed To Launch In The Second Half of September
We are just a few weeks away from the debut of long-awaited Nintendo Switch Online service, and true to its tradition of revealing surprise announcements without anyone expecting it, the Japanese company has updated the launch window and there is more certainty about the start of operations.
A few moments ago, the official Nintendo account on Twitter announced that the Nintendo Switch Online service will start its operations in the second half of September, so it can be expected that at any time from the 16th of that month it will start operating.
As previously reported, the online service for Switch will not only allow access to the online features of the games that require it, it will also offer cloud backup for saving files, the possibility of using the dedicated application for smartphones and, most expected, access to a catalog of classic games that will start with NES titles and will be updated as time goes by.
The Nintendo Switch Online service will offer different subscription packages to suit the needs of users and it will even be possible to purchase a family subscription package that will give access to the owner and 7 more users. Here are the prices in USD:
It is important to mention that Nintendo only updated the information related to the launch window and it is expected that in the coming weeks it will detail the functioning of the backup function in the cloud as well as the 10 classic games that have not been revealed from the initial list, that will be 20 games.
