Ninja Gaiden Black will be freely available to members of Xbox Game Pass
Microsoft surprised us today with excellent news: the first backward compatible titles of Original Xbox will arrive on Xbox One. As you will be aware, the first round will consist of 13 games, among which there are Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Fuzion Frenzy and Crimson Skies.
Undoubtedly, one of the most striking titles is Ninja Gaiden Black, a 2005 game developed by Team Ninja and distributed by Tecmo. In addition to this great news, Microsoft prepared a big surprise for all subscribers of Xbox Game Pass and to celebrate the launch of these new titles backward compatible.
Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb, the programming director for Xbox LIVE, shared a special message on his blog. He stated that “Xbox Game Pass members get access to Xbox Original Ninja Gaiden Black for free as a part of their membership to the game subscription service.”
He also reaffirmed that the new backward compatible titles will have no achievements nor online multiplayer. However, he invited the players to enjoy the local mode and to test the LAN gameplay with all the consoles of generation of Microsoft.
If you plan to revive some of these backward compatible titles, you will only need your original game disc or have it in your digital library for download on Xbox One. Additionally, you can buy them directly from the Xbox store for $9.99 USD. All titles will run at 1080p, with a frame rate per second higher than the original and reduced load times.
In related news, by the arrival of these titles, the control of the Xbox Original for Xbox One will also re-launch. On the other hand, Microsoft confirmed that some Xbox 360 games will have improvement on Xbox One X.
