NieR Automata Has Sold Over 3 Million Copies Worldwide

More than a year has passed since the release of NieR Automata: during the last 15 months, the game of Platinum Games directed by Yoko Taro has been a success that has been unexpected for Square-Enix, totaling over 3 million copies sold in worldwide.

To give the announcement of the excellent result achieved is the Japanese Twitter account of the title: according to the data collected, NieR Automata has sold over 3 million copies between physical and digital formats for both PlayStation 4 and PC.

Last March, the title reached 2.5 million copies sold. This means that in just three months it has sold another 500,000 copies of the game, an exceptional result for a game released more than a year ago. Not surprisingly, its performances have helped Square Enix to close the financial year 2017/2018 with results well above expectations.

The game of Yoko Taro has evidently conquered everyone, from the critics to the public, thanks to a narration as involving as touching and to a hybrid gameplay between action and RPG that has given many hours of fun and absolute adrenaline.

NieR Automata is currently available for PS4 and PC, but for some time there is a rumor of a port for Xbox One as well as possible future projects from Yoko Taro, the director at the helm of Platinum Games.
